Busy, busy, busy....

This is a busy time of year for everyone. I think it would be good to only give Christmas gifts every other year, and on the off years, just enjoy a spiritual Christmas.

On Thanksgiving day, my in-laws came to visit us for 3 weeks. We left after dinner on Thanksgiving, picked them up at the aiport, and traveled on to Branson. They had never been there, so we spend a couple days seeing a few shows. Then came home. During that time, we had Stake Conference which is a busy time for Scott while he prepares 2-3 talks, plus my calling in Stake RS gives me the opportunity to help provide a meal for the stake presidency between the Saturday meetings. Once conference was over with, we had a bit more time to concentrate on things like putting up the Christmas tree, etc.

On the 13th, the whole family left together to go on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay (Disney's private island). If you have not been on a disney cruise, let me assure you that it is the BEST vacation for all ages. This is our 2nd one, and we are hooked. One night was Pirate Night, and i got the whole family to dress up like pirates. It was fun. I will put some pictures on here after Christmas.

Grandma and Grandpa Holman went back home after the cruise. However, when we got home (this past Thursday), Nicole's house had a pipe break and had flooded for 3 days, totally ruining most everything in their house. The walls will have to be gutted to the studs in the whole main floor and basement. So, they are living here at our house (good thing Gma and Gpa went home!). Their insurance agent says he thinks it will be covered; they are waiting for the appraiser to come and look at it.

And for those of you not living around here....we have had some doozy snow and ice for the past couple days. And BITTER cold weather. I heard the wind chill was minus 20....i believe it.

So, the good news is that i don't have much Chrismtas shopping to do since the cruise was everyone's gift. The bad news is that it is too cold to send the kids outside to play! I am pretending that the Maughans have come to visit for Christmas and am trying to really take time to enjoy having them right here at my house. Kale is being really good, and the big kids are really good about keeping an eye on him.

Will post pictures soon.

wow, i feel so bad for the Maughans! Good thing you guys live close and have enough room for them to stay. It will be a family filled Christmas at your house. Can't wait to see pictures of the Disney cruise. Did they have Christmas decorations up for the holidays?
